SCHOOLS must have paid the SFSS block entry fee for the appropriate year of competition and signed the Code of Conduct form to be found at the bottom of this page..

Each school MUST provide 3 officials for the district and selection meetings with at least TWO officials being teachers the third can be a 6th Former or KS4 Sports Leader.

IF PUPILS ARE NOT ACCOMPANIED BY A MEMBER OF STAFF THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION AND THE SCHOOL WILL BE INFORMED ACCORDINGLY

ENTRY FORMS

Please use the entry forms available from the Entry Form Section above and keep a hard copy of all entries then you will know who you have entered, in what event and what number to give them.

You will be required to hand a copy of your team sheet in on arrival at each event with. Team sheets have been provided for you to use if you wish in the Entry Form Section. 

GROUP MEETINGS

Each pupil may enter TWO individual events plus a relay in their own age group.  Each school may enter THREE pupils per event.

Year 7

100m, 200m, 800m, Long Jump, High Jump, Cricket Ball Throw (boys only), Rounders Ball Throw (girls only) and 4 x 100m relay

Year 8

100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot, 4 x 100m relay

Year 9

100m, 200m, 400m (boys only), 800m, 1500m, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump (boys only), Shot, Discus, Javelin and 4 x 100m relay

The first SIX in the group meetings will qualify for the City Championships.  For track events the first six by time from all heats combined will qualify.  PLEASE NOTE THAT AS DECIDED AT THE 2005 ANNUAL MEETING THERE WILL BE NO TRACK FINALS ON THE NIGHT.

CITY TEAM SELECTION MEETINGS

Please make your entries as selective as possible as the main aim of this meeting is to select a team to represent Sheffield for the South Yorkshire Schools Championships.  Pupils can enter up to THREE events.

It was agreed that to save schools time in completing the entry from that we only require the pupils date of birth. (please use the form sent to you or in the Entry Form Section above)

If you have athletes who wish to enter the Steeple Chase, 300m or 400m Hurdles or Pole Vault as part of the Sheffield Team - Please note that these event do not run on the selection night, but athletes must still be put onto the entry sheets

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE RACE WALKING FOR ALL AGE GROUPS TAKES PLACE ON JUNIOR SELECTION NIGHT

Year 7

Year 12/13

100m, 200m, 400m (boys), 300m (girls), 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 2000mSC (boys), 110m Hurdles (boys), 100m Hurdles (girls), 400m Hurdles, Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Shot, Discus, Javelin, Pole Vault

The Y10, Y11, Y12 and Y13 selection meeting will also be the City Championships for that age group.

NUMBERS

  • Each school has been allocated numbers for the group event, which will be collected on arrival at the event by the school. THE SSAA WILL PROVIDE NUMBERS FOR THIS EVENT WHICH SHOULD BE COLLECTED FROM THE CABIN AT THE START OF THE EVENT.
  • Each individual pupil will be allocated a number on the programme for the City Selection Event. THE SSAA WILL PROVIDE NUMBERS FOR THIS EVENT WHICH SHOULD BE COLLECTED FROM THE CABIN AT THE START OF THE EVENT.
  • Each school will be allocated numbers for the Track and Field League. This will be on the information sent out by Alan Friggens. SCHOOLS NEED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN NUMBERS FOR THIS EVENT.

The numbers are to identify the athletes from your school in each individual event. The name on the entry team sheet must correspond with the number worn by the competitor.  

Schools must provide their own pins. One pin in each corner of the numbers which then enables the track judges to identify the number without difficulty.

SOUTH YORKSHIRE SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Saturday 12th June 2010 at Doncaster Keepmoat Stadium

Each Y8-9, Y10-11, Y12-13 pupil can be entered in UP TO TWO events by Sheffield Schools AA in the South Yorkshire Schools Championships, however if this is the case one event must be of District Standard (as set by the ESSA handbook)

Each Y7 pupil is allowed to enter only one event.

All competitors MUST be in full time education at your school at the time of the entries. Pupils qualifying for Representative Honours after the MAY leaving date are still eligible.

ENGLISH SCHOOLS CHAMPIONHSIPS

Friday 9th and Saturday 10th July 2010 at Birmingham

The Entry Forms and Team Sheets for ALL the different events ARE in the Entry Form section above as active Word or Excel Documents. Staff will be able to download them, type in their details as appropriate them return them via email. 

It is most important that staff are aware that a copy of the entry forms that need a signature of the Head Teacher are submitted to the relevant organiser.
