CUP COMPETITION UPDATE 12 NOVEMBER 2009

Thank you to everyone that has sent me results or information for their matches. The results so far are contained in the 'Cup Competitions Update' document at the bottom of the page. 

I would also like to remind everyone/team managers of rule 14 - "Schools cannot refuse to travel to the away venue". Let's all take into consideration that we all have to take our fair share of home and away fixtures.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TEAM MANAGERS:

  • 1) Year 7/Year 8 2 x 30 minute periods (Size 4 Ball)
  • 2) Year 9/Year 10 2 x 35 minute periods (Size 5 Ball)
  • 3) Year 11/U-16 2 x 40 minute periods (Size 5 Ball)
  • 4) No replays
  • 5) For Cup Competitions only: Extra time if light/time allows
  • 6) For Cup Competitions only: Penalty shoot-out if still no overall winner from Extra Time
  • 7) No Overage player allowed (Potential Legal issues if violated)
  • 8) Underaged players to be discouraged - only 1 school year younger to be tolerated
  • 9) All Players involved in Sheffield Schools FA matches (cup and league) that are played on grass must wear shin pads and appropriate footwear (i.e. players in very wet weather should not be allowed to play in trainers)
  • 10) Sheffield Schools FA Cup matches are to be played on Grass unless both schools agree to use an artificial surface such as in the instance of inclement weather or poor light conditions
  • 11) All Jewellery removed - it must NOT be taped over - in agreement with FA Law 4
  • 12) Please observe agreed deadlines for each Cup Round and final League dates - any significant issue - please inform Competitions Secretary as soon as possible
  • 13) First Named Team is at home, unless both teams agree a change of venue
  • 14) Schools cannot refuse to travel to their away venue
  • 15) It is the Away team's responsibility to ensure there is no kit colour clash with the Home Team
  • 16) Schools should confirm fixtures on the morning of the match
  • 17) Results to be e-mailed or sent by text message - telephone results will NOT be accepted
  • 18) Cups/Trophies/Shields to be collected from existing holders after Spring half-term i.e. between February and Easter
  • 19) Certificates to be obtained from Chairman before finals
  • 20) Referees for Finals to be obtained via Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA Referees Officer
  • 21) Referees for normal cup/league matches to be either a qualified official or a strong enough teacher to maintain full control of the match. Please use discretion: A 15 year old who has just passed his first referee exams should not be used for anything other than a Year 7 Six-A-Side match
  • 22) Discipline/Disagreement issues: Complaints must be put in writing to the Competitions Secretary (E-mail attachments accepted) with a carbon copy (cc on e-mail) sent to the Chairman of Sheffield Federation for Schools Sport (SFSS) (see header of this document). The Competition Secretary and Chairman will discuss the issue raised and the outcome will be put in writing and be final.

Year 7 and Year 8 results: FRIDAY 19th MARCH 2010 (leaving the last 2 weeks of the spring term for the play-offs and finals)

Year 9,10 and 11 results: THURSDAY 1st APRIL 2010
