Prim' Cross Country
Apologies for the late display of this information and the Results of the Bannerdale Races which appear in the 'Files' Section at the base of this page.
Welcome to the last race. We have a tie at the top of the Y5/Y6 girls race. Dobcroft and St Maries tied with nether Green just 2 points behind. However the Sheffield open winners Dobcroft Y5/Y6 boys need to finish in the top 5 to win already holding a 6 point advantage.
Y4 girls seems to be dominated by 2 schools, however Hallam have 4 wins and therefore a 3 point advantage going into the final race. The other race gives Nether Green a 10 point advantage going
into the last race.
Individually in the Y4 girls can Tati Wilson maintain her 100% record and win race 6 0r will her team mate Jodie Hill finally get a breakthrough win. Elliot McKie and Taylor Hill are tied at the top of the Y4
boys league so winner takes all in the final race.
So remember, this is the last chance to have a good race before the championships.
Can I take this opportunity to thank all the runners who turned up to the sheffield open especially those representing their schools rather than clubs. You made the Under 11s races the biggest and most competitive. Well done to Dobcroft boys on winning their team race.
Hope to see you all at Limpsfield on Saturday.
S Moran
The Results for Bolehills and Brunswick can be found as Excel spreadsheets in the 'Files' section at the bottom of the page.
Hello Everyone,
We have finished 4 races now. We have been lucky again with the weather and had a wonderful series of races at Brunswick. The question of could Hallam Y4 be beaten was answered by a remarkable Y4 girls race. A very close competitive race with Tati Milson edging Jodie Hill in first and second but then Westways got Four in the top 15 to pip Hallam for the team result. Can they keep the momentum up at Bannerdale.
Could Nether Green Y4 boys maintain there 100% record. Well Ecclesall said no with a best team result of
the day with 32 points. But Nether Gren at least have the consolation of leading the league overall.
In the Y5/Y6 girls race we had a new winner in St Maries and Dobcroft edged out Lydgate in the Y5/Y6 Boys race. 5 points separate 4 teams in the girls league with 2 races to go,with Dobcroft and Nether Green
tied on 195 points. In the Boys league Dobcroft are trying to pull clear of Nether Green.
A big thanks you to the Dave Pullen and the Brunswick Staff for putting on a great event.
We had just under 500 runners overall. We have had a few new enquiries for the final races so let's finish the season in style.
One slight moan is, Can I remind everyone to hand in their cards on the day and that the colours are important.
Pink is Y4 girls
Blue Y4 Boys
Yellow is Y5/6 girls
Green is Y5/6 Boys
Putting teams on the wrong colour means I have to alter the results once I work out what it is. This has caused me to have to rewrite the Bolehill results which have been updated and have to write these out twice Once after we have sent them to the Press. Please can you also total all cards and fill in pupil names clearly with first and family thank you.
See you all At Bannerdale this Saturday. (10th December}

Hello everyone,
At the half way stage in the league and we find that Nether Green have slipped to second in the 2 Y5/Y6 leagues after a great performance from the Dobcroft teams at Bolehills. Hallam continue their dominance of the girls Y4 league with their 3rd win. Westways are the unlucky team in second with performances that would be good enough to win most competitions, but not this year. Nether Green refuse to give up all of their trophies with the Y4 boys winning their first 3 races.
Next up
Brunswick this Saturday.
We again had over 500 runners at Bolehills and the full results will be on the Web site later today.
I have had to alter the results on the previous results as I have had in some late results and had one error on the results at Hallam. Can I remind everyone that I will collect all results cards for all runners an dwill aim to have them on the website the following week.
The will be a new protocol for bad weather going forward. Westways have agreed to put up early warning messages on their Web-site. Mrs Holmes will do this emmediately that a race is called off. This will be a vital part of aur early warning system for cancellations.
Regards
Steve Moran
Hello Everyone,
Sorry for the delay in results, they are in the 'Files' section below. There are still a few issues which I will sort out before the results are published for our 3rd race at Bolehills this Saturday.
Can I remind everyone that I will now be publishing the full results so if you can fill in all the places even if you have more than 3 teams.Put the other individuals on the back of the card you
hand in. These will be out the following weekend.
The Top 30 and the school results will be out the same weekend if there are no issues.
Can Iremind everyone that I require first names and surnames on the card.
It is the schools responcibility to add up these cards even for the incomplete teams.
All A teams with 3 runners will be entitled to points all small schools A teams (1 Class intake per year) will also get points.
(No incomplete B teams will get points but can be included in the results)
Y5/Y6 Boys green cards
Y5/Y6 Girls yellow cards
Over 8/ Y4 Boys Blue cards
Over 8/Y4 Girls Pink cards
All points will be removed from schools that have not paid their Block entry Fee
Looking forward to seeing more teams and schools involved this weekend. Hope to see you there.
Stephen Moran
The results below in the 'Files' section are provisional results from the Ecclesfield race. Hopefully they will become actual by the time we run at Hallam. To keep or claim your points I need the correct details at the end of each race and your school needs to have entered and paid its Block entry fee. Those schools who have paid their Block Entry Fee are listed in the 'Members' page above.
The points will not be returned to individuals or teams if the block entry fee is paid after the the 8th October.
That will mean that on the 8th October all schools that have not paid their Block entry fee will not get points for Ecclesfield and Hallam races.
Their pupils will also not be awarded their points in the individual races.
REMEMBER, THAT YOUR RUNNERS WILL NOT BE INSURED OR ENTITLED TO FIRST AID COVER.
We want all teams to get recognition for entering so can I remind the people in charge of runners to hand in Your A team cards for all schools Especially if you are in the top 20.
Thanks Stephen Moran

Hi Everyone,
Sorry about the delay in the results for the first race. Due to incomplete cards and my work I have not been able to get to them until today. The results will be available by the w/e 23rd Sept.
The Fixture list can be found below and as a file at the base of the this page in the 'Files' section. Could I remind schools at the points are only provisional until your BLOCK ENTRY FEE TO THE SHEFFIELD FEDERATION FOR SCHOOL SPORT is paid. If by the race at Hallam on the 8th October you have not paid you will lose these points and will not be allowed to race at the Hallam event, as we will not be covered under our insurance for you to take part.
So could you all chase up your schools to send the fees in or check they have paid.
Thanking you for your patience Steve Moran

Season
Welcome back.
The new cross country season starts off in earnest this week. On Saturday, 17th September we begin the season at Ecclesfield. The weather is improving all the time so it should be a great day.
We will be having Leagues and Championships for all 4 categories. Y5/Y6 Boys, Y5/Y6 Girls and Y4 boys and Y4 girls races. Remember that the pupils can run in the Y4 race as long as they have turned 8 which means that some of your Y3's could qualify.
We will be awarding points to Schools as last year.
4 pupils to count as 1 team
Large schools (2 or more class intake) will also be permitted points for their A team if they can get a minimum of 3 counters.
Small Schools will be allowed 2 counters.
There will also be individual results for those schools who only have 1 runner.
We are hoping for larger turnouts and more schools involved this year. So come and give it a try.
Stephen Moran
Please find the overall results for the 2010-11 Season at the base of the page in the ‘Files’ section
We had a fantastic End if Season finale with the Relays at Norfolk Park. Special thanks to all the people who helped organise it; Pete McLeod, Christine and the Dobcroft team, Pete Delamere for organising the Start.
We had 18 schools represented in what was a fun event. We will look at ways to get more schools involved in future as this is a lot less than take part in the leagues. I think everyone enjoyed it. It was a little cold but the conditions were fantastic. Both races were very competitive with team mates cheering and urging their teams on.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff and helpers from all the schools that have organised races this season especially those where we had to cancel. A special thanks to Pete Delamere who has helped out starting at all events and Lorna Stringer for her help with tracking and updating the trophies this year. Thanks to Pete McLeod for helping set out the courses and organising the finishes at all the races.
But our biggest Debt of Gratitude goes to Sue Hopkinson for her help to organise this year and the registrations for this year and also for organising a fantastic Championships at Graves Park. But we mustn't forget what Sue has done for Primary Cross Country in the Last 14 years and will always be in her debt for that. Thanks Very Much Sue.
Hopefully I will get to see Sue and all the other Schools at Next year’s Cross Country season. Thanks to all the schools that have supported this year’s events you make them special places to be. Thanks to all the parents for bringing their children to the events and supporting them.
I hope to sort out the Certificates for the teams and individuals out to the schools for the end of Next week. Sorry for the delay.
