The 113th Annual General meeting of the Sheffield Federation for School Sports was held at the Park Hotel, Sheffield on the 15th November 2007. The awards presented at the meeting were as follows:
ALDERMAN SEWELL AWARD for the Schools' Sports Personality for 2006-07 was presented to Rebecca Mersh formerly of Sheffield High School for Girls.
Rebecca was involved in a range of sports throughout her time at Sheffield High School for Girls including Athletics, Cross Country, Trampolining, Rounders, Netball and Badminton. However, it is as a Race Walker that she has and still does excel. She has won several national competitions and is now an established Great Britain International Race Walker, U15, U17, RWA and AAA champion.
Ms Elizabeth Jones (Head of Physical Education at SHG) who presented Rebecca with the award on the night, in her citation said, "Rebecca is extremely modest. She has been an outstanding role model and proved to be popular with her peers and teachersa alike. We are all very proud of her."

CHAIRMAN'S AWARD presented to Andrew Carr formerly of King Edward VII School.
Andrew represented King Edward at a number of sports including Rugby, Athletics and Football. He is an outstanding footballer who has played for his school, his city and county with distinction.
He was chosen by the outgoing Chairman, Mr Ian Rodgers who presented Andrew with his award and had this to say about him. "Andrew embodies all that the Federation represents. His outstanding sportsmanship in all the years I have known him helped greatly with my choice. We all, at the Federation, wish him well for the future."
HAROLD WHITHAM MEMORIAL TROPHY - presented to the athlete/s for the most outstanding performance at the 2007 English Schools Athletic Association Championships. Two recipients:
Abdirisak Ahmed formerly of Abbeydale Grange School, winner of the Intermediate Boys 3000m. Abdirisak was presented with his award by Mr Patrick Howse, Head of Physical Education at Abbeydale Grange School.
Kathryn Granger formerly of Meadowhead School, winner of the Intermediate Girls race walk. Kathryn was presented with her award by Mr Bryan Adams, Meadowhead School and race walking coach.
DAVE AIZLEWOOD MEMORIAL TROPHY - presented to the primary school with the highest number of points at the Sheffield Schools' Athletic Association City Finals. The 2007 winner was Dobcroft School.
SPECIAL AWARD - two recipients:
Silverdale School U16 Boys Badminton Team, George Brown, Will Hall, Geoge Hargreaves and Sam Watson. The most successful Sheffield school ever in the Badminton England Top School Team Tournaments. National Champions in 2005 and National Runners Up in 2006 and North Champions (new format means no Nationals) in 2007.
King Edward VII Physical Education Department for their outstanding achievements, particularly in winning the Sheffield Schools Overall Track League Championship Shield for fifteen consecutive years.
