Awards 2009

The 115th AGM and 2009 SFSS Awards.

Celebrating Sheffield's Excellence in School Sports - with the Olympic Athletes of tomorrow.

The 115th AGM & Awards presentation for the Sheffield Federation for School Sports is being held on the 19th November 2009 at the Sheffield Park Hotel. The awards ceremony - which is open to the public - celebrates the sporting achievements of budding Olympic athletes from the Sheffield area. It will also be an opportunity to welcome our esteemed new president, Uriah Rennie.

Award winners - a championship heritage.

To the present day our charity provides a positive, safe environment and healthy competition for the champions of the future. Past Federation award winners include Seb Coe, Jessica Ennis and Michael Vaughan, and the 115th Awards are another celebration of the sporting achievements of Sheffield's young people. The nominees and award winners on the evening are budding Olympic athletes who have shown exceptional skills in local and national competitions organised by the Federation and their many tireless and dedicated volunteers.

An exciting announcement...

This year, the awards mark an exciting new era for the Federation. Chairman Peter McLeod states "we are delighted to announce and welcome our new President, Uriah Rennie on the evening. Mr. Rennie is an ambassador for sport, especially in the Sheffield area, and we know his leadership and devotion to sports will help promote and improve sport for young people in Sheffield - and help raise the Federation's profile".
