Newfield and Wisewod footballers enjoy regional and national success.

The U15 boys football team of Newfield and Wisewood U16 girls football team are certainly having a successful season.
The Newfield U15 team have always been strong locally and are now proving to be tough opponents nationally. In the prestigious ESFA U15 Boys Schools' Cup out of an initial entry list of over 850 schools they have reached the quarter final stage.
In the process they have won seven games scoring thirty two goals and conceding only six. The opponenets brushed aside in chronological order were: City of Leeds 13-1, Oakwood 1-0, Aston 6-1, South Axholme 5-3, St John Fisher 2-0, Heanor Gate 4-1, and Lindsey 1-0.
Next up for the boys is a trip to Birmingham to face Kingshurst City Technology College for a place in the semi final. The full list of results can be viewed on the ESFA web site.
Similarly the U16 girls team from Wisewood have been enjoying a winning season. In the ESFA Royal Air Force U16 Cup they defeated West Bridgeford 1-0 before succumbing to Bourne Grammar 3-1 in their only disappointing performance of the season.
In the South Yorkshire U16 girls cup however, there were no similar disappointments. in the early rounds they saw off Wath 10-0, Wickersley 5-0 and Balby Carr 13-0 which put them in the final against Ridgewood. A resounding 4-0 win saw them crowned South Yorkshire cup winners.
