Ecclesfield and Meadowhead girl footballers in league successes.

In the girls U14 football league the champions were decided on the 16th April at Sheffield United Academy, Shirecliffe. Three schools Notre Dame, Birley and Ecclesfield played a triangular tournament. The results were as follows:

Notre Dame 0 Birley 3

Notre Dame 0 Ecclesfield 4

Birley 1 Ecclesfield 1

Ecclesfield were declared the girls U14 football league champions for 2008 on goal difference from Birley.

At U16 level it was a straight two team affair between Wisewood and Meadowhead. This game was played on 18th April and once again we are indebted to Sheffield United for the use of their Academy facilities. Meadowhead triumphed by 3 goals to 1 thus securing the U16 girls league title for the fourth year in succession.
